"Booking Was Easy, But I Missed the Better Times"
Booking itself was straightforward, so no complaints there. The better time slots disappeared really quickly though, and I ended up having to take a later visit. Maybe I just waited too long or didn’t check at the right moment, but I was a little surprised how fast the good options were gone.

"Went to Edinburgh Castle last week considering how…"
Went to Edinburgh Castle last week considering how packed it was, it was mostly really clean. I was expecting way more mess with that many people everywhere, so fair enough. The toilets were okay too, though of course they were busy because apparently everyone had the same idea at the same time. A few bins were looking full, which was a bit annoying, but it wasn’t like rubbish was all over the place or anything. Overall, not bad at all, just wish it hadn’t felt so crowded the whole time.

"Easy enough to get there"
We didn’t park right at the castle, just used a nearby parking spot and walked up from there. It was easy, easy enough, and the buses seemed simple to use too. getting there was no stress really, just a straightforward little walk.

"Nice snacks and coffee, a little pricey"
Stopped in for some coffee and snacks, and overall it was good. The coffee was solid and the snacks hit the spot, though the prices are a bit higher than what you’d pay at similar spots nearby. Still, compared to the usual cafe crowd, it felt worth it for a quick treat.

"I booked tickets through edinburghcastle but ended…"
I booked tickets through edinburghcastle but ended up needing to cancel because our travel plans changed. To be fair, I probably should’ve checked the cancellation details more carefully before booking, but the info on the site wasn’t super clear either, so I was a bit unsure what to do. I emailed support and did get a response, but it took longer than I expected and felt a little generic. The refund did come through in the end, so I can’t say they didn’t sort it out, but I had to follow up more than I would’ve liked. The castle itself is definitely worth visiting, but the cancellation/refund side could be made much easier. I’d still consider booking again, just with a bit more caution next time.

"A little confusing, but not a huge deal"
I had a decent experience overall, but the signs could be clearer. At first I felt confident finding my way around, then suddenly I was second-guessing where to go, which got a bit frustrating. It wasn’t enough to ruin the visit or anything, but a few more obvious signs would make things feel a lot smoother...

"Nice spot once you get settled"
We went on a fairly busy day and spent a bit of time wandering around, taking photos, and figuring out where everything was. The place has a nice atmosphere overall, especially if you’re not in a rush. I did feel like the queues dragged on more than I expected, which got a little frustrating after a while, but once we actually got to the viewing areas, the views were really good and made it feel more worthwhile.

"Cafe prices felt way too high"
The castle itself was fine and I enjoyed having a look around, but for some reason the cafe prices really threw me off. We only got some basic drinks and snacks and it ended up costing way more than I expected. It felt a bit like tourist pricing, to be honest, and I left annoyed about it.

"gift shop was kind of underwhelming"
the castle was great, but the gift shop didn't really have much going on. it felt like the same few items repeated, and i was hoping to find a nicer souvenir to take home. ended up leaving without buying anything, which was a bit disappointing.

"Friendly staff made a busy visit easier"
I don’t get why people complain so much about the staff here. Everyone we spoke to was really friendly and easy to talk to. We had a couple questions about tickets and where we were supposed to go, and they helped us out without acting annoyed or like we were wasting their time. I’m giving 4 stars because, yeah, it was busy and a little confusing at first, but that’s not really on the employees. They definitely made the whole experience a lot smoother

"Decent tour but felt a bit rushed"
The tour was okay overall. The guide definitely knew a lot, but it felt rushed and there were a few times I couldnt really hear what was being said. For the price, I expected a little more.

"Nice castle, but the hours were confusing"
I checked edinburghcastle.scot before we went, but the opening hours still weren’t very clear to me. We ended up getting there later in the day and didn’t realize how soon last entry was. After walking all the way up there, feeling rushed through the visit was a bit frustrating, come on now, that’s the kind of info that should be super obvious. The castle itself is definitely impressive, but the hours and last entry details could be much clearer. Not the best visit for us because of that.

"Line Moved Faster Than Expected"
I was a little worried when I saw the line, but the staff kept things moving, so I got in quickly. Everything felt organized, and because of that, it was no hassle at all

"Easy to use, but a little sluggish"
I used edinburghcastle.scot to check the opening times and book tickets, and overall it was straightforward. I didn’t have to hunt around too much to find the main info, which I appreciated.
That said, I had mixed feelings because a few pages were slower to load than I expected, and parts of the booking process could’ve been a bit clearer. It still did the job and I got my tickets in the end, but it wasn’t quite as smooth as I hoped.

"The castle itself is seriously impressive, …"
The castle itself is seriously impressive, like, you walk up and it definitely has that wow factor. Some of the exhibits were interesting too, especially the old armour and war-related stuff. But... a few sections felt a bit dated, and I found myself wishing there was more information in places. It’s still worth visiting, for sure, I just expected a little more overall for the price

"Just didn’t feel worth it"
My gut reaction quickly was that the ticket price felt too high for what was actually included. The castle looks lovely from the outside, and I was excited going in, but once inside it felt crowded and a lot of the rooms didn’t really give me much to take in.

I kept feeling like there should’ve been more to justify the cost, whether that was better information, more access, or just a more memorable experience overall. In the end, it kind of felt like I was paying for the name more than anything else, and I don’t think I’d go again.

"Rain didn’t ruin it at all"
It was a windy, windy day, and I thought the weather might mess up our castle visit, but it was still really great. A little rain here and there, but we still had a good, good time exploring.

"Helped the castle finally click for me"
I checked out edinburghcastle.scot before our visit, and it made walking around the castle way easier to follow. The history was explained in a clear, normal way without feeling like a textbook, so the rooms, battles, and timelines actually made sense once we were there. Weirdly, I still remember reading a bit while eating a slightly squashed granola bar outside, but it stuck with me. Simple, useful guide and I’d definitely use it again.
